Primate safaris

Crafted to give a client an exclusive experience with ape and primates, this safari brings you to the lush green forests of Kibale, Bwindi impenetrable and Mgahinga national park.
Uganda prides of over 50% of the remaining total population of mountain gorillas living in two national parks and that’s Bwindi and Mgahinga then a healthy population of chimpanzees that are widely spread a cross the country. The closest habitat is the Uganda wildlife education center aka zoo in Entebbe then the Ngamba island chimpanzee sanctuary an island that was dedicated to chimpanzees rescued from wildlife trade and some that are orphaned. One can also track chimpanzees in their natural habitats in various national parks and forest reserves like Murchison falls national park in Budongo forest reserve, Bugoma forest reserve, Queen Elizabeth national park in the kyambura gorge, Kalinzu forest reserve that’s found right on the outskirts of queen Elizabeth national park and the motherland of primates aka world’s primate capital i.e. Kibale national park.

Both AM and PM experiences. We have intentionally offered two tracking experiences for this trip for various reasons.
Playing according to nature rules, in as much as you stand 90% chances to see these creatures having two tracking experiences grants bigger opportunities.
For photographers two tracking experiences gives an opportunity for review and correction plus new composition.
Remember these are not experiences that are had any time one chooses to so why not have them to the fullest when the opportunity comes through.
The AM tracking starts at 8am meaning you will have to be at the briefing point by 7:50am. After tracking the guide will drive you back to the lodge and after lunch you will drive back to VIC (visitor information center) for the PM tracking that starts at 2pm.

Day 4

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
This morning you will drive off from Kibale Forest Camp at 8am and lead to a chosen sector of Bwindi where permits of gorilla tracking will have been secured in advance. A gorilla permit is $800 with effect from 1 st July 2024 in Uganda and habituation is $1500.
We have set this up for clients to make an option on which experience they would find more appealing. The difference in the two is habituation is similar to gorilla tracking but more engaging. Clients get an opportunity to be part of the process of making gorillas accept humans in their territories. Habituation unlike gorilla tracking that is 1 hour with gorilla family is 4 hours of gorilla interaction. Habituation is ideal for photographers and a better experience from our experience.
Accommodation; determined after acquiring the gorilla tracking permits. For the case of habituation that’s only done in Rushaga sector and in this case, we opt for Rushaga Gorilla Safari Lodge
